Possible Causes
Seized condenser fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Loose fan motor wiring, Faulty fan driver circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before accessing the rear or side panels. Moving fan blades can cause injury.
- Access the fan: Remove the rear service panel to expose the condenser fan assembly near the compressor and condenser coil.
- Check for obstructions: Remove any plastic wrap, dust clumps, or debris caught in the fan blades. Ensure the blades spin freely by hand.
- Inspect wiring: Verify the fan motor connector is fully seated on the harness and that wires are not cut or pinched.
- Test the motor: With power briefly applied (only if you are experienced and can do so safely), observe whether the fan starts. If it hums or does not turn, the motor is likely defective.
- Replace fan motor: If seized or noisy, replace the Camry condenser fan motor assembly, transferring the original fan blade if required.
After replacement, reassemble panels and run the unit. Persistent E7 may indicate a control board issue.
