Possible Causes

Stuck or scaled float in water reservoir, Faulty water level sensor switch, Disconnected or damaged level sensor wiring, Failed level-sensing circuit on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the water tank or internal covers.

Steps:

  • Verify water level: Ensure the reservoir is filled to the indicated MAX line. Reinsert the tank fully so that any magnetic or mechanical level sensor aligns correctly.
  • Clean the float: If your Caso model uses a float in the reservoir, remove it and clean off mineral deposits or slime that may cause sticking. Soak in a vinegar solution if scale is heavy, then rinse thoroughly.
  • Check the level sensor: Locate the water level sensor or float switch (often a reed switch or micro-switch). Ensure it moves freely and is not obstructed.
  • Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor wires to the control board. Look for breaks, pinched sections, or loose connectors.
  • Test the switch: With a multimeter, check continuity of the float switch while moving it between low and high positions. It should open and close reliably.
  • Replace faulty parts: If the float switch does not change state or is physically damaged, replace the water level sensor / float switch assembly.
  • Control board check: If the sensor tests good but E8 persists, the level-sensing circuit on the main control PCB may be defective and require replacement.
