How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before reaching into the ice bin area.
Steps:
- Remove and reinstall basket: Take out the ice basket, clear any ice buildup around the sensor area, and reinstall the basket fully.
- Defrost sensor area: If there is frost or ice on the sensor window or mechanical lever, allow it to melt. You can speed this by turning the unit off and leaving the lid open for 30–60 minutes.
- Clean sensor surfaces: Wipe the infrared sensor lenses or mechanical switch area with a soft, dry cloth.
- Check lever movement: On lever-type sensors, gently move the lever to ensure it is not jammed by ice or warped plastic.
- Replace sensor if needed: If the FULL indication remains even with an empty bin and clean sensors, replace the ice bin full sensor assembly.
