Dirty water reservoir, Biofilm or scale in water lines, New plastic odor from internal parts, Use of non-potable water
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning. Use only food-safe cleaners.
Steps:
- Empty and clean reservoir: Drain all water and wash the water reservoir tank with warm water and mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly.
- Descale system: Fill the tank with a mixture of water and white vinegar (1:1) or a Caso-approved descaler. Run a cleaning cycle if available, or let the solution circulate for 15–20 minutes, then drain and rinse several times.
- Clean ice basket and interior: Wash the ice basket and interior surfaces with mild detergent and rinse well.
- Use fresh water: Refill with fresh, cold, filtered drinking water. Avoid distilled water if the manufacturer advises against it.
- Break-in period: For new units, discard the first 2–3 batches of ice to remove any residual manufacturing odors.
