Possible Causes
Blocked infrared ice level sensor, Failed ice bin thermistor, Loose sensor harness connection, Faulty ice level control board (if separate)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power before working inside the ice storage bin or control compartment.
- Clear obstructions: Remove the ice bin and any clumped ice. Clean the bin and the area around the ice level sensor windows with a soft cloth. Ensure nothing is blocking the sensor beam.
- Clean optical sensors: If your Electrolux model uses infrared sensors, gently wipe the emitter and receiver lenses with a lint-free cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Check sensor wiring: Access the control compartment and verify the ice level sensor harness is fully seated on both the sensor and main control board. Look for pinched or broken wires.
- Test bin thermistor (if equipped): Remove the thermistor from the bin wall and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to Electrolux specs; replace if readings are out of range or unstable.
- Replace sensor assembly: If cleaning and wiring checks do not clear E03, replace the complete ice level sensor or bin sensor assembly with an OEM Electrolux part.
