Electrolux ice maker displays E05 and stops making ice; water may be present in the bin or sump.

Safety First: Disconnect power and, if applicable, turn off the water supply. Be prepared for water spillage when opening drain components.

• Inspect external drain hose: Check that the drain hose is not kinked, elevated too high, or submerged in standing water. Ensure it has a continuous downward slope to the drain.
• Clear clogs: Disconnect the hose from the pump outlet and run water through it to clear debris. Use a flexible brush if needed.
• Check internal drain channel: Remove the ice bin and access the drain opening in the sump or evaporator tray. Clear any ice, scale, or food debris blocking the drain.
• Test drain pump: With the pump exposed, check for obstructions in the impeller. Spin the impeller by hand. Measure motor winding resistance and compare to Electrolux specs. If the pump is noisy, seized, or open-circuit, replace it.
• Reassemble and test: Reconnect hoses securely with clamps, restore power, run a test cycle, and verify that water drains completely without triggering E05.
