Possible Causes
Misadjusted ice thickness probe, Scale buildup on thickness sensor, Failed thickness sensor, Loose sensor harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power before adjusting or cleaning the ice thickness probe.
- Locate thickness probe: On many Electrolux ice makers, a metal or plastic probe contacts the ice slab to determine thickness. Access it from the front or side panel.
- Clean the probe: Remove mineral deposits using ice machine cleaner and a soft cloth. Do not scratch or bend the probe.
- Check adjustment: Refer to the service manual for the correct gap between the probe and evaporator plate. Adjust the probe position using the mounting screw so it just contacts the ice at the specified thickness.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the probe harness is firmly connected to the control board and not pinched.
- Replace probe: If the sensor is cracked, corroded, or fails resistance/voltage tests, replace it with an OEM Electrolux ice thickness sensor. Clear the error and monitor several cycles.
