Possible Causes
Failed touchpad membrane, Loose UI ribbon cable, Moisture intrusion behind control panel, Faulty user interface board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power before removing the control panel or touching electronic boards.
- Dry the panel: If condensation or spills occurred, allow the control area to dry completely. Do not use heat guns directly on plastic.
- Check ribbon cable: Remove the front bezel and inspect the flat ribbon cable between the touchpad and main control. Reseat both ends firmly.
- Inspect for corrosion: Look for green or white corrosion on connectors or the UI board. Clean lightly with contact cleaner if minor; replace if severe.
- Test button response: After reassembly, restore power and test each button. If some or all remain unresponsive, replace the user interface/touchpad assembly with an OEM Electrolux part.
