Possible Causes
Room temperature too high for proper operation, Blocked ventilation around unit, Dirty condenser coil, Failed condenser fan motor causing overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before cleaning or moving it.
Steps:
- 1. Check room temperature: Move the ice maker to a cooler area if ambient temperature exceeds the manufacturer's limit (often around 32°C / 90°F).
- 2. Improve ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance on all sides and above the unit. Do not place it flush against walls or inside closed cabinets.
- 3. Clean condenser: Remove the rear/bottom panel and clean dust from the condenser coil and fan using a soft brush and vacuum.
- 4. Verify fan operation: With the panel off, plug in and start the unit. Confirm the condenser fan spins freely. Replace the fan motor if it does not run or is very weak.
- 5. Reset: After cooling and cleaning, unplug for 10 minutes, then restart. If H1/HI persists in a cool, well-ventilated area, the temperature sensor or control board may be misreading and require service.
