Possible Causes
Open or shorted cabinet temperature sensor, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Faulty control PCB analog input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before removing any covers.
User-level checks:
- Room temperature: Ensure the appliance is used within the specified ambient temperature range (typically 10–32 °C). Extremely hot or cold environments can trigger sensor-related errors.
- Power reset: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect to clear transient faults.
Sensor inspection (advanced):
- Locate the cabinet/ambient NTC sensor (often a small probe routed near the air intake or side wall). Check for broken insulation or disconnected plugs.
- If the sensor is physically damaged or corroded, replace it with a compatible Gastroback NTC sensor harness.
If E6 persists, the control PCB may not be reading the sensor correctly and may need replacement by a technician.
