Symptom
Ice cubes stick to the evaporator and do not drop into the bin, causing jams.
Poor Ice Release / Harvest Sticking
Symptom
Ice maker display is dim, unreadable, or segments are missing.
Display Module Degradation
Symptom
Ice maker does not power on at all; no lights or display, completely dead.
No Power / Input Power Failure
Symptom
Ice maker emits a burning or electrical smell during operation.
Overheating Electrical Component
Symptom
Ice maker fan runs but compressor cycles on and off rapidly without making ice.
Compressor Short Cycling
Symptom
Ice maker frequently jams with large blocks of ice instead of separate cubes.
Ice Clumping / Oversized Cubes
Symptom
Ice maker frequently pauses with the water level indicator showing empty even when the reservoir is full.
False Low-Water Detection
Symptom
Ice maker frequently shuts off with an overheat smell or very hot sides.

Symptom
Ice maker powers on but does not start ice production; fan may run but no water flows into the tray.
No Water Intake / Fill Failure
Symptom
Ice maker produces ice very slowly compared to normal operation.
Reduced Ice Production Rate
Symptom
Ice maker produces ice with a strong plastic, chemical, or stale taste.
Taste / Odor Contamination
Symptom
Ice maker produces ice, but cubes are very small, hollow, or melt quickly.
Insufficient Ice Formation / Poor Freeze Quality
Symptom
Ice maker runs but makes a loud grinding or clicking noise during the harvest cycle.
Ice Tray Drive / Gearbox Noise
Symptom
Ice maker runs but produces no ice; evaporator plate does not get cold.
No Cooling / Refrigeration Failure
Symptom
Ice maker runs continuously and does not stop even when the bin is full of ice.
Ice-Full Detection Not Working
Symptom
Ice maker stops making ice even though the bin is not full; restarting temporarily restores operation.
False Ice-Full Detection
Symptom
Unit trips the household circuit breaker or RCD when turned on.
Electrical Short / Ground Fault
Symptom
Water accumulates inside the ice storage bin or under the ice basket, causing ice to clump together.
Poor Drainage / Meltwater Management
Symptom
Water leaking from the bottom or sides of the Gastroback ice maker onto the countertop.
External Water Leak
Symptom
