Possible Causes

Empty or incorrectly seated water reservoir, Blocked water inlet valve (if plumbed), Failed water circulation pump, Airlock in water line

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the reservoir or accessing internal hoses.

Steps:

  • Check water level and seating: Fill the reservoir to the MAX line and ensure it is fully inserted and latched. Some Gastroback models have a valve that only opens when the tank is correctly seated.
  • Bleed air: Remove and reinsert the tank a few times to help release trapped air from the intake valve.
  • Clean intake screen: Inspect the small screen or valve at the bottom of the reservoir and the matching inlet on the machine. Rinse away debris.
  • Listen for pump: When the cycle starts, listen for a humming sound from the water pump. If silent and no water moves, the pump may be faulty.

If water still does not reach the tray after these steps, the pump or inlet valve assembly may need replacement.
