Ice maker does not produce ice; display shows E1 shortly after startup.

Safety first: Disconnect the ice maker from mains power and close the water supply valve before working on the unit.

• Check external water supply: Verify the household shutoff valve to the Gram ice maker is fully open. Confirm water pressure is at least 1–8 bar. If you have a saddle valve, make sure it is not clogged.
• Inspect inlet hose: Pull the unit forward, inspect the braided or plastic inlet hose at the rear. Straighten any kinks and ensure it is not pinched behind cabinetry. In cold locations, check for frozen sections and thaw safely.
• Clean or replace inlet filter: At the connection to the Gram water inlet valve there is usually a small mesh filter. Remove the hose, pull out the mesh screen with needle‑nose pliers, rinse under running water, and reinstall. If damaged, replace the filter.
• Test water inlet valve: With power still disconnected, remove the rear service panel. Locate the Gram water inlet valve assembly. Check for visible scale or debris in the valve ports. If you have a multimeter, test the coil resistance against the service manual spec. A coil that is open or shorted indicates a bad valve that must be replaced.
• Reassemble and test: Reconnect the hose, open the water supply, restore power, and run a test cycle. If E1 returns despite good water pressure and a clean filter, replace the water inlet valve.
