Possible Causes
Harvest motor or solenoid failure, Sticking harvest arm or rake, Ice jam on evaporator, Faulty harvest position switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working near moving parts.
- Inspect the evaporator and ice grid: Open the front panel and look for ice bridging or blocks preventing the harvest rake or grid from moving. Carefully remove any jammed ice with a plastic tool.
- Check harvest mechanism: Manually move the harvest arm or rake (if accessible). It should move smoothly without binding. Lubricate only with manufacturer‑approved food‑grade lubricant if specified.
- Inspect harvest motor and switch: Locate the harvest motor assembly and its position switch or sensor. Check for loose mounting, broken gears, or damaged wiring.
- Test motor operation: After reassembling, briefly power the unit and observe whether the harvest motor runs during the harvest phase. If it hums or stalls, or does not run at all, the motor or control output may be faulty.
- Replace defective parts: Replace the Gram harvest motor or harvest position switch if they fail continuity tests or do not operate under power.
