Possible Causes
Ice level sensor blocked or dirty, Bin full microswitch stuck closed, Sensor misaligned, Faulty control board input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working near the bin area.
- Clean ice level sensor: Wipe the infrared sensor lenses or mechanical arm with a soft cloth to remove frost and debris.
- Check sensor movement: For mechanical arms, move the arm up and down; it should move freely and return by spring tension. Replace the bin full switch if it is stuck.
- Verify alignment: Ensure IR emitter and receiver are facing each other correctly and not blocked by bin liners or accessories.
- Test operation: With the bin empty, restore power and observe whether the unit stops when you manually activate the sensor. If not, the sensor or control board input may be faulty and require replacement.
