Possible Causes

Accumulated limescale on evaporator and water circuit, Dirty water tank and pump, Sensor surfaces coated with mineral deposits, Long operating hours without cleaning cycle

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before performing a deep clean.

  • 1. Prepare cleaning solution: Mix a food-safe descaler or white vinegar with water (typically 1:1) according to H.Koenig instructions.
  • 2. Fill tank: Pour the solution into the water reservoir up to the MAX line.
  • 3. Run cleaning cycle: If your model has a dedicated CLEAN button, press and hold it to start the automatic cleaning program. Otherwise, run several ice-making cycles and discard all ice produced.
  • 4. Manual cleaning: Wipe the evaporator, ice basket, and internal surfaces with a soft cloth soaked in the solution. Do not use abrasive pads.
  • 5. Rinse thoroughly: Empty the tank, refill with clean water, and run at least 2–3 cycles, discarding the ice to remove any residual cleaner.
  • 6. Reset indicator: Follow the user manual (often press and hold CLEAN or POWER for several seconds) to clear the CLEAN reminder.

Warning: Never use strong solvents or bleach inside the ice maker; they can damage components and contaminate ice.
