Possible Causes
Failed circulation water pump, Blocked pump impeller due to scale or debris, Loose pump wiring connector, Pump driver failure on control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker and drain water from the tank before removing the pump.
- 1. Listen for pump operation: When starting a cycle (before unplugging), note whether you hear the small pump running. Silence with E6 suggests pump failure.
- 2. Access the water tank: Remove the top cover and ice basket. Locate the water tank and the small pump at its base with hoses attached.
- 3. Check for blockages: Disconnect the pump outlet hose and inspect for limescale or debris. Clean hoses and the pump inlet filter with warm water and vinegar.
- 4. Inspect the pump impeller: Remove the pump (usually held by clips or screws). Open the pump housing if possible and check that the impeller spins freely. Remove any debris.
- 5. Verify wiring: Reseat the pump connector on the harness and at the control board.
- 6. Replace pump if needed: If the pump does not run when powered and wiring is intact, replace it with an H.Koenig-compatible circulation pump.
Warning: Ensure all hoses are reconnected securely to prevent leaks when reassembling.
