Possible Causes
Dirty or misaligned infrared ice full sensor, Ice basket not seated correctly, Reflective surfaces or condensation on sensor window, Faulty ice full sensor module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before cleaning sensor areas.
- 1. Empty and reseat basket: Remove the ice basket, empty it, and reinstall it fully into position.
- 2. Clean sensor lenses: Locate the ice full sensor pair (small windows on each side of the bin). Clean both with a soft, dry cloth. Remove any condensation or mineral deposits.
- 3. Reduce reflections: Avoid placing shiny metal objects close to the sensor area that could reflect the beam.
- 4. Check alignment: Ensure both sensor halves are directly facing each other and not bent or loose.
- 5. Test operation: Plug in and start a cycle. If ICE FULL appears immediately with an empty bin, the sensor may need replacement.
Warning: Do not spray water directly into the sensor openings; moisture can damage the electronics.
