Buttons respond slowly or require very hard presses to register.

Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel.

Steps to restore button responsiveness:

• 1. Clean panel surface: Wipe the control area with a slightly damp cloth to remove sticky residues.
• 2. Inspect for spills: Remove the control panel cover and look for dried liquid or corrosion on the keypad or interface board. Clean gently with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
• 3. Reseat keypad connector: Ensure the keypad ribbon cable is fully inserted into its connector.
• 4. Replace keypad: If buttons remain unreliable, replace the HOMCOM membrane keypad or entire control panel assembly.

Note: Avoid using excessive force on buttons; this can accelerate wear.
