Possible Causes
Aging or failed LED display, Loose display ribbon cable, Low voltage from main PCB, Moisture damage to display board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel.
Steps to address display issues:
- 1. Check for moisture: Inspect the display area for condensation or spills. Dry thoroughly if moisture is present.
- 2. Reseat ribbon cable: Remove the control panel cover and gently disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable between the display and main board.
- 3. Inspect display board: Look for corrosion or burnt components. If present, replace the display board.
- 4. Replace display module: If segments are permanently missing, install a new HOMCOM display/control board assembly.
Note: While the unit may still function, a failing display makes troubleshooting other issues difficult; replacement is recommended.
