Possible Causes
Room temperature below manufacturer’s minimum, Ambient sensor reading out of range at low temps, Ice maker installed in unheated garage or outdoors
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Always operate the ice maker indoors in a dry, temperature-controlled environment.
Steps to address L1:
- 1. Check ambient temperature: Measure the room temperature. If it is below about 10°C (50°F), move the unit to a warmer location.
- 2. Allow acclimation: If the unit was stored in a cold area, let it sit unplugged at room temperature for several hours before use.
- 3. Inspect ambient sensor: If L1 appears even in a warm room, check the ambient NTC sensor and wiring for damage as described for E1.
- 4. Replace sensor if needed: Install a new ambient temperature sensor if the original is out of specification.
Note: Operating the ice maker in very cold environments can cause poor performance and repeated L1 errors; always follow HOMCOM’s location guidelines.
