Condenser Fan or Compressor Vibration Noise
High-pitched whine or rattling noise from the back of the unit during operation.

Possible Causes
Worn condenser fan motor bearings, Fan blade hitting shroud or wiring, Loose compressor mounting bolts, Vibrating panels or feet not level
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before touching the fan or compressor area.
Steps to address rear noise:
- 1. Level the unit: Ensure the ice maker is on a flat, stable surface. Adjust feet or place a thin pad under corners to stop rattling.
- 2. Inspect the fan: Remove the rear panel and check that the fan blade is not rubbing against the shroud or wires. Bend the shroud slightly or reposition wires as needed.
- 3. Check fan bearings: Spin the fan by hand. If it feels rough or wobbly, replace the condenser fan motor.
- 4. Tighten compressor mounts: Carefully tighten the compressor mounting bolts if they are loose, but do not overtighten and stress the refrigerant lines.
- 5. Dampen panel vibration: Add thin foam or rubber strips between vibrating panels and the frame if necessary.
Note: Persistent loud compressor noise may indicate internal compressor damage and should be evaluated by a technician.
