Ice Sticking to Evaporator / Poor Release
Unit frequently stops with ice stuck on the evaporator; shovel cannot push ice off.

Possible Causes
Scale buildup on evaporator surface, Incorrect freeze or harvest timing, Low water quality with high mineral content, Weak heating or defrost function (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow any ice on the evaporator to melt before cleaning.
Steps to improve ice release:
- 1. Descale evaporator: Apply a mixture of white vinegar and warm water to the evaporator fingers or plate with a soft cloth. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes, then wipe and rinse with clean water.
- 2. Clean water system: Descale the reservoir, pump, and hoses as described in odor/taste cleaning steps.
- 3. Use filtered or softened water: This reduces mineral deposits that cause sticking.
- 4. Check sensor placement: Ensure the evaporator temperature sensor is properly attached so the control board can time the harvest correctly.
Note: If ice still sticks badly after thorough descaling, the control board’s timing or defrost function may be faulty and require replacement.
