Possible Causes

Stuck water level float in low position, Shorted water level sensor, Faulty main PCB not responding to level input, Incorrectly routed or kinked overflow hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit immediately and mop up water. Do not operate with standing water inside.

Steps to correct overfilling:

  • 1. Inspect float movement: Remove the reservoir and verify the float moves freely from low to high positions. Clean and descale as needed.
  • 2. Test water level switch: Use a multimeter to ensure the switch changes state as the float moves. Replace if it remains stuck.
  • 3. Check overflow path: Ensure any overflow or drain hose is not blocked or kinked.
  • 4. Inspect PCB response: If the switch works but the pump continues to run and overfill, the main control board may not be reading the signal correctly and may need replacement.

Warning: Water contacting electrical parts can cause shock or fire; allow everything to dry completely before reassembly and testing.
