Possible Causes

Failed condenser fan motor, Failed evaporator fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Faulty fan wiring or connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing internal fans.

  • Identify which fan is faulty: Some Indesit ice makers have both a condenser fan (rear, near compressor) and an evaporator fan (inside the ice-making compartment). Listen for which fan is not running when the unit is powered.
  • Check for obstructions: Remove any panels needed to access the fan. Inspect for ice buildup, plastic packaging, or wiring touching the blades. Clear obstructions and ensure the fan spins freely by hand.
  • Test fan motor: Disconnect the fan connector and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Also check for visible burn marks or melted insulation.
  • Inspect wiring harness: Follow the fan wiring back to the control board. Look for pinched or broken wires and reseat connectors.
  • Replace faulty fan: If the motor is defective, replace it with the correct Indesit fan motor assembly. Refit all covers and test operation.
