Possible Causes
Blocked drain hose, Failed drain pump, Kinked internal drain line, Clogged drain sump or filter
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and mop up any spilled water to prevent slipping.
- Check external drain hose: Ensure the drain hose from the Indesit ice maker to the waste connection is not kinked, elevated too high, or blocked. Clean or reposition as needed.
- Clean internal drain: Access the internal drain sump under the evaporator or tray. Remove any ice, scale, or debris blocking the drain hole. Flush with warm water and a mild descaler.
- Inspect drain pump: If fitted, locate the drain pump near the base. Remove the pump cover and check for foreign objects (ice chips, plastic) in the impeller. Clear obstructions.
- Test pump operation: With the unit reassembled but still accessible, briefly power on and listen for the pump during drain phase. If silent and receiving power, replace the drain pump.
- Verify level: Ensure the ice maker is level front-to-back and side-to-side so water flows correctly to the drain.
