Possible Causes

Open or shorted ambient NTC sensor, Disconnected sensor harness, Corroded sensor connector, Faulty main control board input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect mains power before removing covers.

  • Locate ambient sensor: On many Indesit ice makers, the ambient sensor is mounted near the air intake grille or behind the front panel.
  • Inspect wiring and connector: Check for loose, corroded, or damaged connectors. Reseat the plug firmly into the control board.
  • Measure sensor resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare with the Indesit NTC chart. A reading of near 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a bad sensor.
  • Replace sensor if faulty: Install a new ambient temperature sensor of the correct specification and route the wiring away from hot components.
  • Control board check: If a known-good sensor still triggers E11, the main control board input circuit may be defective and require replacement.
