Possible Causes

Blocked ice level sensor window, Misaligned infrared emitter/receiver, Failed ice bin full sensor, Broken sensor bracket

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before working inside the ice storage area.

  • Clean sensor windows: Locate the ice level sensor (often an infrared pair on opposite sides of the bin). Clean both lenses with a soft, damp cloth to remove frost, dust, or mineral deposits.
  • Check alignment: Ensure the emitter and receiver are directly facing each other and that no plastic parts are bent or broken. Adjust or replace brackets if misaligned.
  • Test sensor operation: With the bin removed, power the unit and observe if the sensor LED (if visible) lights. Block the beam with a card and see if the status changes on the display (refer to service mode if available).
  • Replace sensor assembly: If the sensor does not respond or E13 persists, replace the ice bin full sensor kit with the correct Indesit part.
