Possible Causes
Water supply turned off, Clogged inlet filter, Ice thickness probe misadjusted, Evaporator not reaching freezing temperature
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and close the water supply before disassembly.
- Confirm water supply: Ensure the water valve feeding the Indesit ice maker is open and that the inlet hose is not kinked.
- Clean inlet filter: Remove and rinse the mesh filter at the water inlet valve.
- Check for ice on evaporator: After 15–20 minutes of operation, open the compartment and feel (carefully) near the evaporator or ice plate. It should be very cold and forming ice. If only cool or warm, suspect a refrigeration issue and contact a technician.
- Verify ice thickness probe: Clean and adjust the probe so it correctly senses ice thickness; if set too thin, the unit may harvest prematurely and drop slush instead of cubes.
- Run a full cycle: After adjustments, allow at least one full cycle (30–60 minutes) to see if ice production resumes.
