Possible Causes
Control lock enabled, Door not fully closed, Faulty start button on UI, Ice bin not seated correctly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal work is needed initially; keep the unit plugged in for control checks.
- Check control lock: Some Indesit models have a child lock. Hold the lock/unlock key combination for several seconds to disable it (see user manual).
- Verify door and bin: Ensure the door is fully closed and the ice bin is correctly positioned to engage any safety switches.
- Try alternate keys: If the start button is unresponsive but other keys work, the start key contact may be faulty; the UI panel may need replacement.
- Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes, then reconnect and attempt to start a cycle again.
