Possible Causes
Closed household water shutoff valve, Kinked or frozen water supply line, Failed water inlet valve, Faulty water level sensor not calling for fill
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power and water supply before disconnecting any water lines.
- Verify water supply: Confirm the saddle valve or shutoff valve feeding the ice maker is fully open. Straighten any kinks in the copper or braided line.
- Check for frozen line: If the unit is in a cold area, inspect the supply line for freezing. Thaw gently with warm towels; do not use open flame.
- Test inlet valve operation: Remove the rear panel to access the water inlet valve. With the unit powered (use caution), start a cycle and listen/feel for the valve clicking. If it does not energize, test the coil resistance and replace if open.
- Inspect water level sensor: Ensure the float or sensor in the reservoir moves freely and is not stuck in the full position, which would prevent fill.
- Replace faulty components: Install a new OEM water inlet valve or level sensor as needed, then restore power and test for proper fill.
