Possible Causes
Clogged water filter, Partially blocked water distribution tube, Scale buildup in water lines, Weak water inlet valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the unit and shut off water before disassembling water components.
- Replace water filter: If your Kenmore ice maker uses an inline or internal filter and it is older than 6 months, replace it.
- Inspect water distribution: Access the top of the evaporator where water is distributed. Clean any mineral deposits or slime from the distribution trough and holes.
- Flush water lines: Disconnect the line from the inlet valve to the reservoir and flush with clean water to remove debris.
- Test inlet valve: If flow remains weak, test the valve coil and replace the valve if partially restricted or electrically weak.
