Dirty or frosted ice-full IR sensor, Misaligned ice basket, Faulty ice-full sensor, Reflective objects near sensor window
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before cleaning sensor windows.
- 1. Empty and reseat basket: Remove all ice from the ice basket, then reinstall it fully into its guides.
- 2. Clean sensor windows: Locate the ice-full infrared sensors on each side of the ice chute. Clean both lenses with a soft, damp cloth and then dry completely.
- 3. Remove reflective items: Ensure there are no shiny utensils, foil, or reflective surfaces directly in front of the sensor windows that could bounce the IR beam back.
- 4. Restart cycle: Plug the unit back in and start a new ice cycle. Observe whether the ICE indication clears.
- 5. Replace sensor: If the problem persists, replace the ice-full infrared sensor assembly.
