Possible Causes
Loose cabinet panels, Worn condenser fan motor bearings, Debris in fan blades, Noisy circulation water pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before tightening screws or touching moving parts.
- 1. Level the appliance: Place the ice maker on a solid, level surface. Adjust feet if fitted. An uneven surface can amplify vibration.
- 2. Tighten panels: Check all external screws on the side, rear, and bottom panels. Tighten any that are loose to reduce rattling.
- 3. Inspect fan: Remove the rear panel and inspect the condenser fan. Remove any debris caught in the blades. Spin by hand to check for wobble or grinding; replace the condenser fan motor if noisy.
- 4. Check water pump: Listen near the base for a loud buzzing from the circulation water pump. If the noise is excessive and persists after bleeding air and cleaning the pump inlet, the pump may need replacement.
- 5. Isolate vibrations: Place a thin rubber mat under the unit to dampen transmitted noise.
