Possible Causes
Failed ice-full IR sensor, Disconnected sensor wiring, Sensor window blocked open, Main control PCB not reading sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before working near sensors.
- 1. Clean sensors: Clean the ice-full sensor windows on both sides of the ice chute with a soft cloth.
- 2. Check wiring: Access the inside of the cabinet and verify the IR sensor harness is securely connected to the main PCB.
- 3. Test with basket removed: With the unit running and basket removed, carefully interrupt the sensor beam with a non-reflective object to see if the machine responds (stops making ice). If not, the sensor or PCB is faulty.
- 4. Replace sensor: Install a new ice-full infrared sensor assembly if the existing one does not function.
