Possible Causes
Evaporator not entering defrost phase, Scale build-up causing ice adhesion, Faulty tray tilt motor, Incorrect cycle timing on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before manually removing ice.
- 1. Do not force ice off: Avoid using sharp tools on the evaporator plate to prevent damage.
- 2. Defrost and clean: Allow all ice to melt, then clean the evaporator with a descaling solution to remove mineral build-up.
- 3. Observe cycle: Run a cycle and watch whether the ice tray / evaporator assembly tilts or warms slightly to release ice. If not, the tray motor or control timing may be faulty.
- 4. Replace tray motor or PCB: If the tray does not move, replace the ice tray motor assembly. If it moves but timing is incorrect, the main control PCB may require replacement.
