Possible Causes
Stuck water level float, Failed water level sensor, Mineral buildup on float or sensor, Disconnected sensor harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and drain water before working around the reservoir or pump area.
Steps to resolve E7:
- Access the water reservoir: Remove the top cover or internal ice basket to see the water tank and float assembly.
- Inspect the float: Look for a plastic float that moves up and down with water level. Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck by scale or debris.
- Clean the float and sensor: Remove mineral deposits using a mixture of warm water and white vinegar. Rinse thoroughly.
- Check sensor wiring: Trace the wires from the float/sensor to the control board. Reseat the connector and inspect for damage.
- Test the switch (if mechanical): Use a meter to check continuity as you move the float. Replace the float switch if it does not change state.
- Replace sensor if needed: If cleaning and testing show the sensor is faulty, install a new NewAir-compatible water level sensor or float switch.
Tip: After reassembly, refill the reservoir to the indicated level and run a cycle to confirm that E7 does not return.
