Possible Causes
Room temperature below design limit, Thermistor reading out of range at low temps, Control board low-temp lockout
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not operate the ice maker outdoors or in unheated spaces below the manufacturer’s minimum temperature.
Steps to address L1/LO:
- Measure ambient temperature: If the room is below about 50°F (10°C), move the unit to a warmer location.
- Allow stabilization: Let the unit sit unplugged in the new location for at least 1 hour before restarting.
- Check thermistor connections: If the room is warm but L1 persists, inspect the cabinet thermistor and wiring for damage or loose connections.
Note: Persistent L1 in normal temperatures may indicate a faulty thermistor or control board.
