Possible Causes
Blocked internal drain channel, Faulty overflow float switch, Kinked internal drain hose, Scale buildup in drain outlet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker and remove the water reservoir before working on the drain system.
- Drain the unit: Use the external drain plug (if equipped) to empty residual water. Place a tray or towel under the drain.
- Clean drain channel: With the lid open, locate the small drain hole at the bottom of the ice-making chamber. Use a soft brush or pipe cleaner to remove debris or scale.
- Flush with warm water: Pour a small amount of warm (not boiling) water through the chamber to ensure it flows freely to the drain.
- Check overflow float: If accessible, gently move the overflow float to ensure it is not stuck in the raised position.
- If E10 persists: The overflow switch or internal drain hose may need replacement, which requires cabinet disassembly.
