Possible Causes
Ice storage bin overfilled, Ice cubes blocking infrared sensor window, Faulty ice-full infrared sensor board, Misaligned sensor bracket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the ice maker from power before reaching inside the ice bin.
- Empty the ice basket: Remove the ice storage basket and discard or store the ice. Make sure the bin is not jammed against the sensor area.
- Clean sensor windows: On many ProfiCook models, an infrared emitter and receiver are located on opposite sides of the ice chute or bin opening. Wipe both windows gently with a soft, damp cloth to remove frost, mineral deposits, or grease.
- Check for obstructions: Ensure no ice cubes or plastic parts are blocking the sensor path. Reinstall the basket correctly so it does not interfere with the beam.
- Power cycle: Plug the unit back in, wait 30 seconds, and restart ice production. Confirm that E2 clears.
- If E2 remains: The ice-full sensor PCB or its wiring harness may be defective. Replacement involves opening the cabinet and swapping the sensor board—this is best done by a service technician.
