Possible Causes

Open-circuit NTC temperature sensor, Shorted NTC sensor, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Corroded connector on control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the ProfiCook ice maker before removing any covers. Avoid touching the refrigeration lines.

  • Reset the unit: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect and try a new cycle. Sometimes transient sensor errors clear after a reset.
  • Check ambient conditions: Ensure the ice maker is used within the recommended room temperature (typically 10–32°C). Extreme heat or cold can cause sensor readings to go out of range.
  • Inspect visible wiring: If you can access the evaporator area via the top cover, look for any obvious damage or dislodged sensor clipped to the evaporator plate. Do not bend or puncture the evaporator.
  • If E3 persists: The NTC sensor or its harness is likely faulty and must be replaced. This requires opening the cabinet and disconnecting the sensor from the main control board. If you are not experienced with appliance repair, contact a ProfiCook service center.
