Possible Causes
Defective cabinet ambient NTC sensor, Sensor wiring damaged, Sensor dislodged from mounting point, Control board reading out of range
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any panels.
- Check installation location: Move the ice maker away from direct sunlight, ovens, or heaters. Excessive heat can cause sensor readings to exceed limits.
- Allow stabilization: Let the unit sit unplugged at room temperature for 30 minutes, then reconnect and test again.
- Visual inspection: If accessible, inspect the small sensor probe usually mounted near the air intake or on the side wall inside the cabinet. Ensure it is not broken or hanging loose.
- If E7 persists: The ambient NTC sensor or main PCB is likely faulty. Replacement of the sensor is usually straightforward but requires opening the housing and reconnecting to the control board.
