Possible Causes

Blocked internal drain channel, Faulty overflow float switch, Kinked internal drain hose, Control PCB detecting abnormal water level

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the ice maker before tilting or opening panels.

Steps to address E10:

  • Drain the unit: Use the external drain plug (if fitted) to empty the reservoir into a sink or bucket. Slightly tilt the unit backward to help water exit.
  • Clean internal drain paths: Remove the ice basket and inspect the bottom of the reservoir. Use a soft brush and warm water to clear any slime, scale, or debris from the drain holes and channels.
  • Check overflow float: Locate the internal overflow float or sensor (often near the sump). Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck in the raised position. Clean around it thoroughly.
  • Inspect internal hoses: Remove the lower panel to access internal drain hoses. Look for kinks, clogs, or disconnections. Straighten or clear as needed.
  • Reset and test: After cleaning and reassembly, plug the unit back in and run a cycle. Monitor for leaks and confirm that E10 does not reappear.
  • Replace components: If the float switch is stuck or tests faulty with a multimeter, replace the overflow float switch. Persistent E10 with clear drains may indicate a control PCB fault.

Tip: Regular cleaning of the reservoir and drain passages prevents biofilm buildup and overflow issues.
