Possible Causes

Failed condenser fan motor, Fan blades obstructed by dust or foreign objects, Seized fan bearings, Faulty fan wiring or connector at control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect the ice maker from mains power before accessing the fan area.

Steps to address E7:

  • Check ventilation: Ensure the unit is not pushed against a wall and that the rear grille is not blocked. Poor airflow can overheat the condenser and trigger fan-related errors.
  • Inspect fan operation: Remove the rear panel to view the condenser fan. Plug the unit in briefly and start a cycle while observing the fan (keep fingers clear). If the fan does not spin at all, proceed with further checks.
  • Clean the fan and condenser: Unplug the unit again. Use a soft brush and vacuum to remove dust from the fan blades and condenser coil. Spin the fan by hand; it should rotate freely without grinding.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the fan motor wires and connector for damage or loose connections. Reseat the plug on the control PCB.
  • Test the fan motor (advanced): With the unit unplugged, measure resistance across the fan motor leads. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. If resistance is normal but the fan does not run when powered, the control PCB may not be supplying voltage.
  • Replace parts: Replace a defective condenser fan motor. If the fan is good but still not powered, the main control PCB may require replacement.

Warning: Do not operate the ice maker with the rear panel removed for extended periods; this can alter airflow and cause overheating.
