Russell Hobbs
Poor Ice Storage Insulation or High Internal Temperature
Ice maker runs but ice melts quickly in the storage basket

Possible Causes
Condenser fan not running continuously with compressor, Lid not sealing properly, Ambient temperature too high, Thermostat or sensor keeping cabinet too warm
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before inspecting seals or internal components.
Steps to reduce ice melt:
- Check lid closure: Ensure the lid closes fully and the hinges are not damaged. Clean the lid gasket and rim to remove debris that may prevent a good seal.
- Improve room conditions: Move the ice maker to a cooler area away from direct sunlight, ovens, or hobs.
- Verify fan operation: Confirm that the rear condenser fan runs whenever the compressor is on. If the fan is intermittent or stopped, replace the condenser fan motor.
- Limit lid opening: Avoid frequently opening the lid, which allows warm air in and accelerates melting.
Note that most countertop ice makers, including Russell Hobbs models, are not freezers; they keep ice cool but not fully frozen. Some melting is normal, and meltwater is recycled.
