Possible Causes
Stuck or misaligned water level float, Dirty water level sensor, Airlock in water pump intake, Faulty level sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working inside the reservoir.
Steps to fix false low water:
- Reset water level: Empty the reservoir completely, then refill to the MAX line. This can reset some sensor types.
- Check float movement: Locate the water level float (if fitted) and ensure it moves freely up and down. Clean any scale or slime that may cause sticking.
- Clean sensor area: Wipe the sensor housing and surrounding surfaces with a mild vinegar solution and rinse.
- Bleed air from pump: After refilling, tilt the unit slightly to help any trapped air escape from the pump intake.
- Replace sensor: If the indicator remains on, the water level sensor/float switch may be defective and require replacement.
