Water in reservoir becomes cloudy or has an unpleasant smell

Safety: Unplug the ice maker and discard any ice and water before cleaning.

Cleaning procedure:

• Drain and rinse: Open the drain plug and empty the reservoir. Rinse with clean water.
• Deep clean: Fill the reservoir with a solution of warm water and food-safe descaler or white vinegar (follow product instructions). Run a cleaning cycle if available, or let the solution sit for 20–30 minutes.
• Scrub surfaces: Use a soft brush or cloth to clean the reservoir, ice basket, lid underside, and any surfaces that contact water or ice.
• Flush thoroughly: Drain the cleaning solution, then refill and drain with clean water 2–3 times to remove any residue.
• Use filtered water: Going forward, use filtered or bottled water to reduce scale and improve taste.
