Possible Causes
Dirty or frosted ice full sensor, Mispositioned ice basket not triggering sensor correctly, Failed infrared ice level sensor, Loose sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Switch off and unplug the ice maker before cleaning sensors.
Steps:
- Remove and reseat basket: Take out the ice basket and reinstall it correctly, ensuring it sits flat and fully back in place.
- Clean sensor lenses: Locate the ice full sensor window(s) near the top of the ice storage area. Wipe gently with a soft, lint-free cloth. Remove any frost buildup by allowing the unit to sit unplugged with the lid open until melted.
- Test with basket empty: Plug the unit back in and start a cycle with no ice in the basket. If the message clears, monitor for recurrence.
- Inspect wiring: If the message remains, access the sensor wiring behind the inner liner and ensure connectors are secure. Replace the ice full sensor assembly if it continues to falsely detect a full basket.
