Possible Causes
Cracked water tank or reservoir, Loose or split silicone water hose, Misaligned drain plug or gasket, Overfilling beyond MAX line
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and wipe up any spilled water to prevent slipping or electrical hazards.
Diagnosis and fix:
- Check water tank: Remove the tank and inspect for cracks, especially at seams and corners. Replace the water tank / reservoir if damaged.
- Inspect drain plug: Many Sencor ice makers have a bottom drain plug. Ensure it is fully tightened and the rubber gasket is intact. Replace the drain plug gasket if it is hardened or cracked.
- Internal hoses: Remove the rear or bottom panel and inspect silicone hoses from the tank to the pump and from the pump to the evaporator. Tighten hose clamps and replace any hose that shows splits or bulges.
- Do not overfill: Always fill only to the MAX line. Overfilling can cause overflow during operation.
