Possible Causes
Failed compressor start relay/PTC, Open compressor winding, Faulty main control board relay, Overload protector tripped
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working near the compressor.
Steps:
- Cool down: Allow the unit to cool for 30–45 minutes in case the overload protector has tripped.
- Check start relay: Remove the compressor terminal cover and inspect the start relay/PTC. Replace if burnt or rattling.
- Measure windings: With the relay removed and power disconnected, measure compressor winding resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed compressor.
- Board relay: If the compressor and relay are good, the main PCB relay may not be sending power; replace the main control board.
